A Hoping Sunshine Institute

The mission of our institute is to provide a opportunity for homeless to have a warm family and enhance their strengths by taking classes so that they can have a better future. 

Every time I saw the homeless living in dirty environment, and they only wear a thin and broken T-shirt in the winter, I am very worried about them if they get sick, and they have no money to buy medicine or see a doctor. I know no one is willing to live in the streets and feel cold at night, and homeless must have some their own difficulties, so I decide to help them. 

Homeless can come to our institute to meet new friends, eat food, get some clothes and take classes for free. Also our institute provide accommodations but they need to help us to clean offices, accommodations and classrooms. Our classes includes art, literature, science, business, and engineering so that homeless can choose classes which they interested in to take. They just need to take classes on weekdays. On weekends, our institute will take them to join in some public benefit activities, and if they want, they can be volunteers. Our institute believe everyone has his or her own strengths, if we give them opportunities to demonstrate, homeless also can be a entrepreneur. 

Our institute also collects donated food, clothes and shoes every week, so that homeless do not need to worry about getting cold in winter, and they don't need to wear broken clothes any more. Our institute provides many different kinds of service to homeless so that they can not only feel warm and happy living with us but also strengthen their skills which can make them easier to find a job and afford their living cost in the future. 

My First Step to Make a Better World

A better world means to me is a world full of respect and thankfulness. Everyone in the world has their own characteristics. We cannot only see the advantages of a doctor or a lawyer, but only see the shortages of a homeless. We need to respect all the people equally even a beggar because we don't know the reason why he or she is willing to be a beggar. Sometimes a beggar has some difficulties that we cannot image, or he or she is forced to be a beggar. Beggars also have their own dignity and they are eager to be respected, so we need to respect all people in the world. 

The other one is that we need to live with thankfulness. I need to thanks all people who helped us or punished us because they make us grow up. When we have thankfulness, we are willing to help others. We need to thanks our parents, teachers and friends. Because of them, our life become more meaningful. Also, maybe some people hurt you before, but they let us learn some lessons, and we can get some valuable experience, so we need to thanks them and when they are in trouble, we need to help them and maybe this can influence them in the future.We cannot plan our whole life because the world is full of uncertainty but we can always keep respect and thankfulness in our heart, and our life can be wonderful.

I observed a fast food restaurant near my home which is In N Out. The one near my home is not very big, but there are so many customers in the line waiting for buying hamburgers. After I observed it for an hour, I finger out why it is so popular, and it can attract so many customers. The team work in the restaurant is very strong because each employee has their own part to do, and the process of making a hamburger is very organizational and efficient. Each employee has their own task and then works in coordination which represents team orientation that is one of the characteristic in the culture. In N Out also has innovation and risk taking because In N Out has own secret menu which is not in the regular menu. Secret menu is an innovation because there are not so many fast food restaurants have it, and it makes customers feel curious to try items from the secret menu. Moreover, In N Out has attention to details because when people order the hamburger, the employee will ask the customer if they want the onion, and if the customer wants the onion, the employee will ask customer like the regular onion or cooked onion. Also, if customer order the ice tea, the employee will ask customer if they want the lemon on the tea. All these details represent the attention to detail in cultural characteristic. 

Because In N Out has its cultural characteristics, it operates very successfully. Even though the prices of the hamburgers, fires, and drinks are not very high, but they can be sold very well. The efficient organization and culture help to control the restaurant and make the employees cooperate, so it can not only keep the high quality of the hamburgers but also the quantity of the customers.
